School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka

New school buildings are designed out of area of Black Meadow in Ostrava but with very close connection with the park. This plot is situated between the river Ostravica, Black Meadow and planned living area New Karolina. It´s orientation to the south and the proximity of nature it´s also very important for the school buildings. Elementary school, secondary school , gym and kindergarden are designed as one komplex connected with platform opened to the river.

In this thesis I focus on creating a project for children with special educational needs. The project, which the applicant is true and which school has the potential to be supported from EU funds, addresses the current situation of poor literacy in Czech Republic at primary schools, The thesis proposal to create a quality educational program for this target group not only the professional but also sustainable.

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the issue of educating students with special edu-cational needs in secondary schools. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to un-derstand, describe and interpret how their teachers approach the education of these students. In order to better understand the issue, the basic terminology and legal framework of the subject will be introduced in the first part of the thesis. Afterwards the various disabilities that special educational needs of students stem from will be presented, followed by an examination of the support options avai-lable to teachers from schools and other institutions. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, I will discuss various approaches to stu-dents with special educational needs from different perspectives. In the practical part of this thesis, I will describe the results of the exploratory sur-vey, which will be conducted by a qualitative method through semi-structured in-terview as its tool. The collected data will be analyzed using open coding metho-dology.
Primary school teacher's perspective on inclusive education

This diploma thesis focuses on inclusive education and its close aspects, especially the perspective of elementary school teachers. The thesis itself is divided into several chapters. These explain the theoretical framework of inclusion in special pedagogy and associated topics, for example, a shift in a perception of a person with disabilities in individual periods, basic possible approaches to children's education, ie terms of exclusion, segregation, integration, and lastly, inclusion itself. They explain their definitions or principles. School legislation in the Czech Republic is also part of the thesis. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the topics mentioned above and deals with the concepts related to education and special education in general, such as school as social institutions and individual social and professional roles in it, the concept of socialization or international trends in special pedagogy. The practical part contains qualitative research, ie structured interviews with specific pedagogical staff and outputs from these interviews. Integration of Children and Young Adults with Mental Disabilities into Society from the Perspective of Social Workers

The thesis focuses on the integration of children and young adults with mental disabilities into society from the perspective of social workers. Social workers can play an important role in the process of integrating people with mental disabilities into society. The thesis explores their views on the current state of inclusion and social services and the problems they perceive within the social service system. The first part of the thesis explains the terms frequently used in the text and describes laws that refer to people with mental disabilities. The theoretical concepts on which the thesis is based are also explained, mainly the concepts of front-line workers and empowerment. The objectives, research questions and methodology of the thesis are then set. The research section of the thesis presents the results of the analysis and the main findings of the research. The research section includes excerpts from interviews, highlighting the problems social workers perceive within the social service system and the integration process. The social workers' approach to their clients with mental disabilities and the actors who, according to social workers, play a significant role in the integration process are also described. Finally, the results of the analysis are linked to the theoretical framework.
Alternative and augmentative communication in PE lessons for pupils with pervasive disorder.

Title: Alternative and augmentative communication in PE lessons for pupils with pervasive disorder. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to investigate the possibilities of using pictograms as methods of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to support the communication of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in physical education (PE) classes.. Methods: The work is based on theoretical-empirical methods. In the first phase of the research, the SOP methology (word, picture, movement) was created, which can be used for testing and conducting PE for individuals with communication disorders. In the second phase, the method was tested on a group of five students with ASD (age 18-20 years, 2 women, 3 men) studying at a special secondary school. The qualitative investigation included the following methods of data collection: a three-phase test of understanding of physical education terminology, diagnosis by independent pedagogic staff in classes and participant evaluation by the researcher. The intervention consisted in the implementation of a comprehensive 4-month program for the development of communication skills using the SOP method in PE lessons with support in other lessons. Implementation of Information System ANDI in Speech Therapy Practice

This thesis focuses on development of the ANDI project, which aims to make it easier for speech therapists to manage information about their clients and therapies. The paper deals with the usability of the ANDI application software for wider groups of customers. This is followed by qualitative research, based on which subjects representing possible archetypes of potential future users are selected. Based on interviews with these specialists, a list of specific requirements is compiled, the implementation of those requirements then expands the functionality of the system and its practical usability. At the end of the paper, there is an evaluation from the author's point of view and an outline of the further possible development of the project, both in the implementation of the new version of ANDI 2.0 to several independent speech therapy practices, and also for the establishment of cooperation with the commercial project Logapka.

Transformation process of residential facitilities for people with mental disability

The topic of bachelor thesis is transformation of residential facilities for people with disabilities. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes historical development of social services, especially in The Czech Republic. Furthermore, the mental disability is defined and classified. Also, this part of the bachelor thesis deals with history of special education and integrative and inclusive education. Finally, there are chapters dealing with transformation of residential facilities within social services and legislative provisions which are connected with the process of transformation. The main focus is on Qualitative Standards within social services which are included in Annex II to Regulation (No. 505/2006 Coll.), implementing regulation to Social Services Act (No. 108/2006 Coll.) The aim of the empirical part is to find out whether the healthcare in residential facilities for people with mental disabilities is adequate and how the healthcare has changed since the transformation. Next goal is to determine how the education of employees and clients of these services has changed and what role special education teachers used to have and what role they have nowadays. Data collection was performed using semi-structured interviews and observation.
